Scholarship Benefit Auction
The UWAA staff coordinates an annual spring scholarship auction which funds an average of 34 scholarships a year. The annual auction, held in various towns throughout Wyoming, helps us meet our yearly $50,000 funding obligation. Alumni, friends and community members are always welcome to attend.
The 2010 auction was held in Sheridan, Wyoming on April 24th. Many thanks to the people of Sheridan and the surrounding areas for their generosity. The event was attended by over 110 people, raising over $17,000 toward scholarships. The 2011 auction will be held in Rock Springs.
Contributing businesses have their name on display along with any promotional items they provide. The business will also be listed in the auction book.
Students are selected as graduating high school seniors on the basis of academic excellence, leadership, extra-curricular activities and an essay on why they wish to attend the University of Wyoming. The scholarships are made available to students for their four years at UW. In addition, we offer a one-year scholarship annually to an outstanding UW junior or senior, a two-year $1500 scholarship for a Wyoming community college transfer student, plus a one-year scholarship for a UW graduate student.
